Karachi Boat Club defeated Insurance Association of Pakistan in the 32nd Challengers Cup.
IAP batted first and were off to a difficult start as they lost both their openers for single digit scores. One down-batsman Kashif Rajput scored 36 off 35 balls to stabilize the innings. He was supported by Muhammad Usman Siddique, who scored 38 off 33 balls. However, their efforts were the only significant ones and the remaining batting lineup was unable to post runs on the board. The team reached a mediocre total of 142 runs. Karachi Boat Club’s Yasir Farooqui was the pick of the bowlers as he bagged 3 wickets.
Karachi Boat Club’s batsmen played a calm and composed innings and both openers performed well. Shayan Adamjee’s 37 and Muhammad Arshid’s 54 not out helped the team chase down the easy target without the remaining batsmen having to score too many runs. Insurance Association of Pakistan was unable to restrict the batsmen apart from bowler Nawaz Khan who took 3 wickets.
