KARACHI CC vs LEGENDS CC
6TH CAMPAIGNER TROPHY
A low scoring match was played between Karachi CC and Legends CC in the 6th Campaigner Trophy. Legends CC batted first and started off in the most unimpressive manner, as a golden duck for Umer Ishtiaq was followed by another duck by Ahmer Shaikh. This dismal display of batting was consolidated by a decent partnership featuring Zahid Safdar and Emad Ul Haq. Zahid scored 30 runs off 24 balls while Emad managed to get 34 runs off 22 balls. The formidable bowling by Rafique, Fahad Naeem and Ghulam Yasin earned them 2 wickets apiece and also shook the batting lineup again. Zahir Khan was the best bowler with 3 for 17. Legends CC scored just 107 runs before getting all out in the 19th over.
A few calm innings and Karachi CC would have easily chased this target. But a poor show by the top order resulted in a few problems for Karachi CC. Faraz and Mahmood were the two unfortunate batsmen to get out without getting off the mark. Haris Amin scored 20 off 23 and supported Fahad Nadeem who made 38 valuable runs for his team. Faisal Sardar and Maaz Ahmed got two wickets each while Saboor and Asad got 1 wicket apiece. A heroic effort by Abdul Qadir which resulted in 26 runs off 13 balls finished the game in Karachi CC’s favor.
Karachi CC won the match by 3 wickets.
