Karachi Patriots and Aimmz Trading played the 20th Challengers cup match at Aga Khan hospital ground. Patriots won the toss and decided to field first. Aimmz were off to a flying start as Zain and Muneeb knocked 33 runs in 3 overs. Zain was out after scoring 20 off just 9 balls and Muneeb was out after scoring 8 runs. After their dismissal, the Patriots bowlers stemmed the flow of runs and Afroze contributed 25 runs , Ozema got 8 runs and A Rahim got 11 runs as the run rate continued to decline. Qutaiba with 20 runs and Shahid and Nadir with 12 each ensured their team ended at a respectable 138 for 7 in 20 overs. For Patriots, Rafay took 2 wickets while Adeel, Sameer, Faisal and Faraz picked up a wicket each.
In reply, Patriots were off to a disastrous start as they lost Usman Yunus Ghani (5) and Amir Motiwala and Atif Ahmed both departed without scoring a run. Faisal Butt and Adeel Abbasi then stabilized the innings and Adeel was out after scoring 21 runs. Faisal stuck around with 51 runs off 37 deliveries but the run rate continued to mount and surpassed more than 9 runs required per over. Captain Ghazanfar Khan Richie stepped up to the plate and scored a quick fire 48 not out off 23 deliveries to ensure his team reached home with an over to spare and for the loss of 6 wickets. For Aimmz Trading, Nadir and M Ali took 2 wickets each while Atta and Zain got a wicket each.
