Karachi Patriots and Shamsher Khan CC locked horns in this fixture of the 15th Challengers Cup. Shamsher Khan CC batted first and were off to a shaky start. Umair Ghaffar was out for a duck while the rest of the top order failed to do the remedial work. It was Rehan Abdul Hakim who produced a gem of an innings and put his team back on track. Moneeb Zia assisted Rehan with 39 runs. Rehan Abdul hakim top scored the innings with 80 runs off 51 balls and helped his team score a competitive total. Rizwan Merchant took two wickets for 20 runs. After 20 overs, Shamsher Khan CC scored 169 runs for the loss of 5 wickets.
Karachi Patriots had to play out of their skin in order to chase this herculean target. But all the hopes of a solid start were demolished, as the top order failed to impress. This had a cascading effect as wickets kept falling one after another. Ritchie was the top scorer for Karachi Patriots with just 22 runs followed by Atif Ahmed who scored 17 runs. Noman Bhatti, Farhan Ismail, Wasiq Khatri and Haider Ali took 2 wickets each, in a collaborative effort to restrict Karachi Patriots from scoring freely. Karachi Patriots were all out for 87 runs and the match was won by Shamsher Khan CC by 82 runs.
