ICT v Karachi Patriots
15th Challengers Cup
Karachi Patriots batted first with Atif Ahmed leading from the front with a scintillating knock of 61 runs. The team held firm against an aggressive bowling attack with Adeel Abbasi further contributing a blistering half century at a strike rate of over 200. Hasnain Iqbal was the star bowler for ICT, fighting hard to break the momentum and picking up 3 wickets. Patriots batting was too strong for ICT's bowlers and an all round contribution helped propel the team to set a formidable target of 192 in 20 overs.
ICT were off to a rocky start in their chase, losing opener Ali Ammar for just 12 runs. His partner Talha Ahmedani took over the reigns scoring an impressive 49 runs to pull his team right back in the game. Adeel Iqbal also stepped up to the challenge with a fighting 48 run knock but simply could not get his team over the line. Patriots bowler Ritchie did well to strike with the ball, picking up 2 wickets at an economy rate of 6 for his 4 over spell. ICT eventually fell short, scoring 181 in 20 overs.
Karachi Patriots won by 12 runs.
