Karachi Stallions v Karachi Hawks
6th Residence Cup (Eliminator)
Karachi Hawks batted first and had a tough day out with the bat. Losing opener Faraz Kazi for just 7 runs, the team was unable to recover and gain stability at any point throughout the innings. 8 of their batsmen were out for single digits, throwing away their wickets without any notable contributions. Idrees Durrani was the only saving grace for his side with a valuable knock of 33 runs that kept the scoreboard ticking. Stallions bowlers were outstanding with the ball, with Hassan Ahmed leading the attack, picking up 3 wickets. Saad Dawood and Mustufa also picked up 2 wickets each. Karachi Hawks were eventually bowled out for 107 runs in 18.3 overs.
With a modest total to chase, Karachi Stallions were off to a rocky start losing opener Abdul Samad for just 1 run. While there were no outstanding knocks, an over all team performance made things look easy for the Stallions. Owais Gigi and Sohaib were the most valuable contributors with the bat, scoring 29 and 25 runs respectively. A fired up Idrees Durrani fought hard to defend the Hawks total, picking up 3 wickets and doing damage with the ball. Eventually Stallions comfortably chased down the total in 18.3 overs.
