The final of the Ash Cup took place between Champions XI and Ground Hawks Cricket Club with Kashan Ahmed playing the innings of a lifetime!
Champions XI batted first and with the exception of Adeel Sabuwala's handy 65 and Rafi's 35 none of the other batsmen could keep their wickets intact to contribute to the target. Hawks bowlers were on fire, taking wickets when needed and stopping the flow of runs. Adnan Lateef and Ali kept the pressure on with 2 wickets each while Furqan and Sameer picked up a wicket each as Champions XI ended at 149 for 7 in 20 overs.
In response, Ground Hawks opener Kashan Ahmed knocked it out of the park! His sublime century came off just 51 balls and he remained on 102 not out throughout the innings. Ayyan Khan also chipped in with 27 runs as Ground Hawks raced home to victory in just 16.3 overs. Luqman Khan took 2 wickets for his side but it was too little, too late.
Grounds Hawks Cricket Club won by 7 wickets and are champions of the Ash Cup.
