The 3rd Mtax CPL night cricket tournament continued at the MKCA as Khas took on Karachi Warriors.
Khas batted first and set a very defendable 172 on the board despite a rocky start which saw ace Hassan Sohail dismissed for a duck. The innings however was anchored by Shiraz Mannah and Rehan Tahir who scored 47 and 78 respectively before Shiraz was dismissed by Ahmed Saeed. Rehan however continued the good work hitting 7 boundaries and 2 sixes. He guided Khas to 172 with his special innings along with small contributions from the middle order.
Karachi Warriors also got off to an abysmal start in their run chase, losing both openers early on. Yasir Shafqat and Fahad Elahi steadied the innings scoring 42 and 29 respectively. Shiraz Mannah however dismissed both in quick succession to dent the Warriors hopes of a successful run chase before Fahad Tahir came and rekindled the flame. He scored a quick fire 36 of 21 but the bowling change worked as Khurram Ashfaq picked up his all important wicket. A comical series of run outs followed to ensure that the Warriors fell 5 runs short of the target.
