Engro Fertilizers clashed with AJM Constructions in this thrilling fixture of the 3rd Corporate Super Cup League. Batting first, Engro Fertilizers were off to an ideal start as both openers looked in good form. Khurram played excellently as he scored 63 runs off just 29 balls while his partner Irteza scored 71 runs off 55 deliveries. This ideal start had ensured a decent score for Engro Fertilizers. The rest of the batting lot could not score as much as they should have but still a few brisk knocks allowed Engro Fertilizers to post a huge total. Waqas Yamin grabbed 2 wickets while Rizwan Soomro managed to take 1 wicket for just 19 runs. Engro Fertilizers scored 205 for the loss of 8 wickets after 20 overs.
AJM Constructions needed a herculean effort to chase such a big score. But a shaky start provided by the top order, made things difficult for the chasing team. M. Hassan and Afzal Ayub tried to hold the innings together after a dismal start. But the towering required run rate created immense pressure for the batsmen and due to an excellent spell by Sahib, AJM Constructions collapsed. Sahib took 4 wickets for 27 runs and AJM Constructions managed to score only 144 runs in the allotted 20 overs. The match was won by Engro Fertilizers by 61 runs.
