Omar CC is a team which has been around for some time and they have developed a reputation for themselves in the local cricket arena. In this game they faced a star studded opposition named Ateeq Estate Eleven. Omar CC with all their experience were ready to overpower any opposition, while Ateeq Estate Eleven boasted of some big names from the local and the international circuit. The two giants clashed in this thrilling fixture and displayed all their skills to outplay each other.
Omar CC trembled at the start as Zia ul Haq got the better of the Omar CC top order. Despite of two wickets falling in short intervals, Omar CC did not collapse. Fauzal Hassan and Muhammad Imran held the innings together with their fantastic partnership. Muhammad Imran kept on rotating the strike and Fauzal Hassan assaulted the bowlers with his powerful stroke play. Fauzal Hassan scored an outstanding knock of 73 runs of 58 balls. He hit 4 fours and 5 huge sixes in his innings. Imran also shifted gears at regular intervals as he with the help of 3 fours and a six, scored 31 runs off 36 deliveries. He was stumped on the bowling of the energetic Fawad Alam. The rest of the batting display was ordinary and Omar CC could not hold on the stability provided by Fauzal Hassan and Muhammad Imran. Zia ul Haq led the Ateeq Estate Eleven bowling line up as he took 4 wickets for just 20 runs with an economy of 5. Hammad Butt, Muhammad Salman and Fawad Alam took 1 wicket each, restricting Omar CC to 137 for 8 in 20 overs.
The start of the Ateeq Estate Eleven innings was pretty similar to that of Omar CC. Two of the top order batsmen did not even reach the double figures before losing their wickets. Khalid Khail was the man who provided these breakthroughs to Omar CC. After fall of the second wicket, Daniyal Ahsan joined the hard hitting Khurram Manzoor. Khurram who opened the innings, lacked support from the other end at the start. And perhaps this support was the only thing he needed to display his class. As Daniyal Ahsan showed signs of steadiness, Khurram Manzoor pelted the ball in every corner of the park. Omar CC got two wickets in quick succession. The set batsman Daniyal Ahsan lost his wicket and after facing only 2 balls Owais Rehmani walked back to the dugout. Before troubles could increase for Ateeq Estate Eleven, the extremely talented Fawad Alam joined Khurram Manzoor. Scoring 18 runs off 14 deliveries with his sensible batting, Fawad Alam ensured that his side chases the target with ease. He provided Khurram Manzoor with every opportunity to score freely. Khurram Manzoor was the top scorer of the game with 85 runs off 52 deliveries. He hit a total of 12 boundaries, which included 7 fours and 5 superb sixes. This superb batting by Khurram Manzoor helped his team reach the target in the 17th over. Khaild Khail finished the game with bowling figures of 2 for 19 in 3 overs.
