Groove CC batted first against Karachi Riders and struggled with the bat. Opener Qasim was dismissed for just 4 runs before his partner Adeel came to the rescue. He top scored for his side with a valuable 46 but the team faltered throughout the innings. Atif knocked 21 while Ammad tried to fight back with 31. Karachi Riders did well to try and limit the opposition with Junaid in particular taking 2 wickets. Groove CC ended at 154 for 8 in 20 overs.
In response, Karachi Riders opener Mahmood Ali was exceptional with the bat. His 93 came at a mammoth strike rate of over 220 which set up a crushing victory. Salman and Junaid's cameos of 25 and 29 helped Karachi Riders chase down the target in just 13 overs. Groove CC bowlers were out of sorts, unable to stop the onslaught.
