Groove CC batted first against Young Challengers in a friendly encounter. The team got off to a dream start as both of their openers scored half centuries. Adeel ur Rehman scored a brilliant 56 runs while Mansoor Khan played a sublime innings of 84 runs with an outstanding strike rate of 205. Due to the fantastic foundation set by the opening pair, Groove CC managed to post a competitive score of 176 on the score board in the allotted 18 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Young Challengers bowlers looked completely helpless to control the flow of runs and were struggled in their spells. Mudassir was the leading wicket taker from Young Challengers claiming 3 wickets.
Groove CC bowlers perfectly defended the hard work of their batsmen. They kept a tight line and length and created problems for the opposition to score runs. Tariq Naeem’s 2 and Mansoor and Saud’s 3 wickets each shook the opposition and did not allow any room to score. Though Owais scored a brilliant 57 and Zakaria made 42 runs, the poor performances from the other batsmen could not make it up for Young Challengers. They managed to scrap 160 runs only for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 18 overs.
