Mars Thunder beat the Suleman Textile Stallions comfortably by 6 wickets in the Memon Premier League on 19-11-2015
The Suleman Textile Stallions batted first, posting 159 on the board at the loss of 9 wickets. After losing their top order cheaply due to some fanatastic bowling by Hammad Sheikhani, Shehzad Suleman and Shumail Aziz gave the innings some direction. They put on a 70 run partnership for the 5th wicket, contributing 57 and 32 respectively. Raheel Asif then took the total to a respectable 159 with an explosive cameo of 22 in just 9 balls. Haji Ashraf picked up 3 wickets for the Thunder, but Asad Wahid was the star bowler creating immense pressure on the batsmen as he picked up 1 wicket for just 16 runs.
Mars Thunder completed the run chase with just under 4 overs to spare and 5 wickets in the tank. Despite losing both openers early on to Navid Rangoonia, Muzammil Mehboob and Ahmed Rafiq put on a 50 run stand for the 4th wicket before Muzammil was dismissed on 29. Rafiq however continued the fantastic work, setting up the match beautifully with his 60 of just 29 balls. Shehryar Ghani and Asad Wahid contributed with cameos before Ashraf Pakhali applied the clinical touch on a superb run chase to hand the Mars Thunder a comfortable 5 wicket victory.
