The KMPL Night tournament witnessed another landslide victory for Masaqa CC as they took on Classic XI.
Masaqa CC batted first, opening with Ahmed Hussain and Faizan Malik. The two openers got the team off to an aggressive start with Malik scoring a classy half century and Hussain scoring 39 from 22 balls. The middle order did well to maintain the run rate as Muhammad Sabir secured 48 runs, striking at 165. The bowlers managed to bring down just 4 wickets, allowing runs to flow easily as the batsmen closed the innings at 201 runs.
With a steep target to chase, the Masaqa CC bowlers put Classic XI batsmen under massive pressure. The batsmen started relatively slow and allowed the bowlers to dominate them from the beginning. Opener Mubashir Hassan fell for a duck early on, followed suit by Hashim Khan’s wicket. Fahad Ali tried to consolidate an innings but was unable to keep up with the rising required run rate. Masaqa CC kept chipping away at the batting order, knocking over 8 batsmen in 20 overs as Classic XI managed just 148 runs.
Masaqa CC won the match with a comfortable margin of 53 runs.
