Mavericks CC beat Mavericks Stars in a match in the 34th Challengers Corporate Cup.
Mavericks CC batted first and both openers played steady innings. Bilal Aslam scored 26 runs while Idrees Gohar scored 27 runs. Middle order batsman Tauseef Riaz fired 62 off 48 balls, including 7 boundaries to bring the team’s total up further. Salman Rana’s 36 off 19 balls boosted the score towards the end of the innings. The bowlers were unable to bowl an economic spell.
Mavericks Stars got off to a mediocre start, with Kamran Vohra scoring 27 off 25 balls and Waqas scoring 14 off 9 balls. Although the remaining batting lineup made small contributions, it was difficult for them to chase down their target. A late fire from Wasim Shekhani did help the team but they were still unable to win. Mavericks CC’s Salman Asif bagged 4 wickets and was backed by the other bowlers.
Mavericks CC won by 68 runs.
