Mavericks CC defeated Gulberg Smashers in a match held on Sunday.
Mavericks CC batted first and lost their openers for a duck and 3 runs respectively. However, Idrees Ahmed Durrani hit 20 off 17 balls to help stabilize the team. Adnan Khan Niazi played a fantastic knock of 65 off 36 balls, including 10 boundaries. He was supported by Khansha, who scored 46 off 36 balls and remained not out. Due to their efforts, the team amassed 172 runs. Gulberg Smashers’ Jahangir Khan took a 5 wicket haul for his team.
Gulberg Smashers were off to a rough start as they lost both openers for single digit scores. However, Sahib Rizvi swiftly made 41 off 30 balls to offer some stability to the team. Daniyal Khan’s 26 off 15 balls and Asad Ather’s 37 off 25 balls helped the team move closer to chasing their target, but due to the other batsmen not performing, they were unsuccessful. Khansha took 2 wickets for his side.
