Strikers CC took on the Mavericks in the 25th Challengers cup.
Strikers CC batted in the first innings. Waqas Vakil looked in great touch, scoring 45 from 35 balls at the top. The remainder of the top order was unable to support his effort as they lost their wickets cheaply. Sufiyan Yousuf, in the middle, stepped up and posted a brilliant half century. His 57 from 37 balls allowed the Strikers to set a decent target of 157. The Mavericks' bowlers looked disciplined through the first innings, with strike bowlers Hamza Bhatti and Moin Jahangir picking up two wickets apiece.
Mavericks' batsmen seemed well-suited to handle the chase as they got off to a steady start in the second innings. The top four batsmen consolidated enough partnerships to keep the runs ticking at around 8 an over. Saad Asif at No. 5 top scored for his side with 39 from 23 balls. His quick innings managed to get the Mavericks over the line with an over to spare.
Mavericks won the game by 6 wickets.
