Mavericks went against Medicam on 2nd November at the Lawai Cricket Ground. The match was the final battle of Powerplay Express.
Batting first, Mavericks posted a total of 145 at a loss of 8 wickets. Their openers Bilal Aslam and Ahmed Asif gave a steady start, as they scored 24 and 35 runs each. In addition to this, the one-down batter, Saad Asif hit 45 off 34 at a strike rate of 132.35. Houd Adnan stood out from the bowling attack, as he bagged 3 wickets at an economy rate of 8.
Junaid Khaleel and Abdul Basit Zaki opened the innings for Medicam. However, they lost wickers in earlier runs of 16 and a duck respectively. Though Houd Adnan and Hassan Nooruddin scored in 20s each. However, the bowlers dominated, as none of the batters stood out. Usman Ashraf, Salman Asif, Idrees Amin and Saad Dawood dismissed two batters each. Hence, destructing the momentum.
As a result, Mavericks successfully defended the score and restricted the opponents to a score of 122 runs. Hence, they were declared the champions of Powerplay Express.
