Meezan Bank and Shan Foods went against each other on 23rd October at Civil Aviation Ground.
Ahmed Baig and M.Sadaqat opened the innings for Meezan Bank. Ahmed was stunning with his effort, as he smashed 63 runs at a strike rate of 140.00. Though Sadaqat was playing at a strike rate of 237.50, however, he lost his wicket on 19 runs only. Syed Sharjeel Ahmed, the one-down batter, struck 57 runs off 31 balls, hitting 4 sixes and 2 fours. Though Raja Shamraiz Kayani and Syed Jahanzaib Ali took 2 wickets each. However, the batters were unstoppable. The middle- and lower-order batters, Abdul Basit, Faisal Iqbal, Kashif Altaf and Sayyam Khan Afridi, played at massive strike rates. Hence, the team was led to a mighty score of 213 runs.
Abdul Nafay and Abu Bakar opened the innings for Shan Foods. However, both got out on a low score of 13 each. The loss of wickets of the openers dented the momentum hugely and built pressure in the middle overs. Syed Sharjeel Ahmed bagged 2 wickets, while Sayyam Khan Afridi, Kashif Altaf and Ayub Baig took a wicket each. Though Syed Saqlain and Sajid Danish Farooqi built a stable partnership, scoring 43 and 23 runs respectively. However, the variations brought by the bowlers kept on building the pressure. The run rate dropped to 6.45 for Shan Foods and they were unable to recover from it.
Hence, Meezan emerged as the winner restricting Shan to a score of 129 runs.
