Meezan Bank won the Magnus 30 Challengers Corporate Cup Final against Alpha CC on Saturday.
Alpha CC batted first and were off to a good start. Syed Inam Agha made 10 runs while fellow opener Faizan Azam smashed 53 off 37 balls, including 9 boundaries. Despite his great innings, the team fell under pressure as their middle order batsmen were dismissed for single digit scores. Meezan Bank faced the opposition bowlers with ease as they aimed to chase an easy target. Rameez Mehboob fired 21 off just 7 balls while Haq Nawaz made 22 off 20 balls. Omer Abdul Rehman’s important knock of 37 off 28 balls helped the team put runs on the board. Kashif Altaf’s quickfire 22 off just 9 balls led the team to a successful chase. Apart from Hamza Qureshi, who took 2 wickets, Alpha CC’s bowlers were no match for the batsmen.
Meezan Bank won the final by 5 wickets.
