Shahid Mukhtar hit a sensational 68 as Zamzam Sports win over NCC by 11 runs in TMC Ground.
It was a day when no one wanted to be a bowler. Zamzam Sports batted first and lost one of their opener quite early in the game as Muhammad Asif was bowled by Raheel just for 4. After the early loss Zamzam Sports batsmen not only recovered but pummeled the NCC bowlers. Shahid Mukhtar in particular was in no mood to deal in singles as he hit 10 fours and 2 sixes during his stay at the crease, Mukhtar went on a rampage from the very start and scored 68 of just 28 balls at a massive strike rate of 242.86. He was very well supported by Aamir Bungesh who scored 33 and kept the strike rotated consistently. This partnership put Zamzam sports at a very commanding position and it meant that the stage was set for the late order batsmen to finish the innings on a high and Farhan Sheikh did exactly that scoring a quick 54 of just 39 balls to take his team to a challenging total of 189.
With a mountain to climb, NCC was hoping for a better start then they got as they lost Abdul Majeeb just for 3. Bilal and Abdul Hasan provided some stability but they also could not convert their starts into something big as they were dismissed for 21 and 30 respectively.
NCC kept losing wickets at regular intervals, they needed someone to stabilise the innings, Arshad tried to do that but he also was not successful as he was dismissed for exactly 50. In the end NCC fell short by 11 runs, Abdul Shakoor, Mustafa and Aamer Bungesh all took 2 wickets each for Zamzam Sports.
