National Foods were victorious in the first match of the Pakistan Cables 25th Challengers Cup, beating Midas Safety by three wickets.
Midas took to bat first and made a 110 runs in 19.4 overs for the loss of ten wickets. Faizan Shakeel made 28 from 21, Ahmer Iqbal made 18 from 26 and Owais Saleem made 20 from 32. With the pressure high as a result of this being the first match, National Foods bowled surprisingly well. Abdul Salam took four wickets while Ghulam Adil and Essa Khan took two each and Azhar Ali took one.
National Foods chased the target in 17.3 overs for the loss of seven wickets. Arif Khan Afridi made 22 from 19 while Arif Shah made 30 from 28. Arsalan Abdul Majeed and Owais Khuawaja took two wickets each while Adnan Khalil and Owais Hussain took one each.
