NN Strikers and Olive Digital went head-to-head against each other on 6th October at the Karachi Masters League Season V.
Aashir Ahmed Siddiqui and Imran Shah opened the innings for Olive Digital. Aashir scored 32 runs at a strike rate of 152.38. However, he was caught out on Shahzaib Ahmed’s ball. Imran scored 24 runs off 30 balls. Muhammad Salman, the one-down batter, added 40 more runs to the score, hitting 5 boundaries. The batting lineup and the bowlers gave each other a tough fight. As, Bilal Manzoor dismissed 4 crucial batters. Usman Shah scored 45 runs off just 20 balls, leading Olive to a competitive score of 173 runs.
Muhammad Nafay and Ali Nawaz Shaikh opened the innings for Strikers to chase. While Nafay scored 35 runs, Ali got out on 5 runs only. The one-down batter, Rehan Tanoli, lost his wicket on a single run. Hence, the bowlers were successful in halting the momentum of the batters. Waleem Azeem led the bowling attack and dismissed 4 batters. In addition to this, Ali Umer and Usman Shah bagged 2 wickets each. Though Rehman Ghani scored 35 off 15 balls, however, he was unable to chase the score single handedly.
As a result, Olive’s bowlers were successful in restricting Strikers’ batters, winning the match by a margin of 11 runs.
