Crushers took on Punno on 4th November in the MTAX CPL Night Cricket Tournament at MKCA.
The Crushers were put in to bat first and managed to make a modest 140 at the loss of 9 wickets in their 20 overs. There was no major contributor amongst the batsmen but Asim Javed, Shiraz Shakeel and Bilal Saigal chipped in with scores of 20 and above. Saad Tariq and Shoaib Shakeel were the stand out bowlers for Punno picking up 2 wickets at miserly economies.
In response, the Punno openers coompletely dismantled the Crushers bowling line up. Rizwan Ijaz played the supporting role as he remained unbeaten on 35 to allow Nabeel to take majority of the strike on the other end. Nabeel did not disappoint playing a gem of an innings scoring 94 of just 44 balls. His mesmerising innings included 6 boundaries and 8 massive sixes. Howver, he could not finish off the match as Muneeb Aftab got past his defence in the very final stages of the match. Hence, Waqas Tariq was given the pleasure of scoring the winning runs for Punno and leading them to a crushing 9 wicket triumph.
