Rebels CC Vs Vanthali Blue
16th Challengers Cup
Rebels CC batted first and were off to a bizarre start losing early wickets which rocked them back. Hamza Rangonia and Naveed Nagda dismissed the top order without much contributions. After a poor start, Burhan and Waseem came in the middle and stabilized the innings and formed a brilliant partnership. Both scored quick 50s and brought their side back in the game. Burhaan scored 56 off 52 balls with 5 fours and Waseem on the other hand, scored 58 off just 36 balls with 7 fours and 1 six. This gave some momentum to the innings and Ghazanfer Baloch took the momentum forward and played a little cameo of 23 to take Rebels CC to 162 in their 20 overs.
It was a teasing sort of total and it was not completely out of grasp of Vanthali Blue, but Rebels were up for the challenge and they never allowed the opposition to get under their skin. Rebels were sharp from ball one and they maintained tight line and lengths. The opening bowlers, Aqib and Farhaan picked up 1 wicket each and bowled in tight corridors to maintain a great economy rate. Asad Ali was the highest wicket taker with 2 scalps. On the other hand, Vanthali Blue were never in control of the chase, the highest scorer for them was Farrukh Rangonia who scored 33 off 36, but that was not enough for them as they were beaten comprehensively by 23 runs.
