Southend Champions batted first and were off to a terrible start as they lost 2 quick wickets. Badar then lead the fight back with his brilliant and skillful batting display. The stylish opener scored 70 runs of just 42 balls. He was batting on a different pitch and his partners were on another as he seemed to be in perfect hitting form. He showed both aggression and sense in his batting display. He was supported by Mohsin who played a quick little cameo of 30 from just 19 balls. With this effort Southend Champions scored a reasonable 159.
Considering the fact that Southend Champions were off to a terrible start it was a good recovery and it seemed like to be a challenging total but not until Mustafa Ali began the chase. It was a match winning innings from Mustafa as he scored 82 of just 142 with a strike rate of 174. He was supported by Faraz and Imtiaz who scored 23 and 25 respectively. Mustafa’s effort was no mean feat considering the fact that Southend Champions came back strongly with the bat in the game. Mustafa was in a hurry to finish of the game and with his hitting the match ended quite early then expected only in 15.2 overs as Southend Hawks won by 7 wickets.
