Wintex Strikers v Rims Lions
The much anticipated semi final of the Memon Premier League between Rims Lions and Wintex Strikers was held at RLCA Gulberg cricket ground. Wintex won the toss and fielded first. Lions lost Jahangir and Rabish early while Muzammil Mehboob with 41 and Danish Fatani with 32 provided stability to the innings. Additionally, Adeel Sabuwala with 30 off 23 ensured Rims Lions ended at a competitive 152 for 8 in 20 overs. For Strikers, Waqar Idrees was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets for just 14 runs while Danish Aziz took 2 wickets and Saad and Ahsan picked up a wicket each.
Wintex's start was disastrous in the second innings as in form Rameez Mehboob was out for a duck on the very first ball and the subsequent batsmen got good starts but could not capitalize and convert into big innings and wickets kept falling at regular intervals in the face of some good line and length bowling by Lions bowlers. Adnan Salim got 20, Talha Ahmedani 15, Danish Aziz 24 and Adeel Abbasi 28 but Wintex were all out for just 128 runs. For Lions, Idrees Amin starred in his spell with 3 wickets for18 runs while Asadullah, Zeeshan and Rabish took 2 wickets each.
