Rising Star CC Win Comprehensively

In a Group A fixture of the 17th Challengers Cup, Rising Star CC faced Shark CC, in a match that turned out to be a one sided affair.

Shark CC batted first but losing opener Ghazanfar Baloch for duck! Things did not get any easier after that with none of the other batsmen able to score in double digits, decimated by a fantastic display of bowling. Opener Jalal Owais was the only exception, top scoring with 37 runs while the rest of the side imploded in an innings that included 3 ducks. Anus Ahmed was merciless in his spell, picking up 3 wickets for 12 runs while Talha Ahsan and Muzammil Lakhani chipped in picking up 2 wickets each. Shark CC were bowled out for 68 runs in 14.2 overs.

Chasing just 69 runs, the Rising Star CC  were at a big advantage going in to the 2nd innings. Adeel Rizvi scored a blistering 23 ball 38 while fellow opener Muhammad Kashif scored 21 runs in 23 balls, to guide their team to a comfortable win. Jalal Owais and Haris Izhar took a wicket each but the target was far too modest to defend.

Rising Star Cricket Club won the match by 8 wickets with 67 balls to spare.
