Wonder Boys Vs Rising Start C.C
15th Challengers Cup
Wonder Boys batted first and were off to a good start as their openers played the initial overs well. Both, Imran and Abdullah scored 29 runs each and looked in reasonable touch but once they were dismissed Rising Star came back strongly and picked up couple of more quick wickets to apply pressure on the batting side. Talha Ahsan was the most impressive bowlers, during his spell he not only kept the run scoring under check but also picked up 4 crucial wickets. On the other hand, Kashif and Ali Mir smashed some blows in the late order to help their side reach a respectable score of 167.
Chasing in a crucial game is not always an easy task but Rising Star showed they have the potential to overcome the target. Right from the start their intent was positive and their openers played risk free cricket to give their side a good start. Zia and Haji Abdul Rehman scored 22 and 19 respectively. Once the openers were dismissed, Danish and Abbas carried the innings forward with 35 and 49 respectively. They both added more than 70 runs together and kept the scoreboard ticking during their stay. Sajid Ashfaq was the pick of the bowler for Wonder Boys as he picked up 2 wickets for 17 runs but this effort was not enough as Rising Star cruised to victory with 2.4 overs remaining.
