Royal CC demolished Sadiq Sports in the Khatri KCCA Zone 3 tournament by a humiliating margin of 148 runs.
Batting first, Royal CC set a total of 282 in their 40 overs. The openers, Furqan Khalil and Abdul Samad put on a 50 run stand before Samad was dismissed by Shehzad Ahmed. However, Furqan continued the onslaught, timing the ball supremely to all boundaries. Number 3 batsmen Aqib Rizvi also played his part from the other end and both batsmen scored centuries putting up a massive third wicket stand. Furqan ended the match on 144 of 112 balls, which included 10 boundaries and 6 maximums while Aqib remained unbeaten on 100. They propelled the Royal CC to a colossal 282, which was always going to be a tough ask of Sadiq Sports.
To make matters worse after a dismal show in the field, both Sadiq Sports openers were dismissed cheaply, one of which was a silly misunderstanding that resulted in a run out. Amjad Manzoor and Talha Mamsa dismantled the Sadiq line up, picking up 3 wickets each. The only real contribution with the bat came Mubeen Ansari who scored 44 at almost a run a ball. Sadiq Sports were restricted to only 134, getting all out in just 24.3 overs.
Furqan Khalil was rightly declared man of the match for his tremendous knock of 144 which took the Royals to a massive 148 runs as they made their mark, warning all contenders of their undeniable threat.
