The KMPL Night tournament featured a thriller between Thunder Wolves and United Fighter, as both teams took the match down to the wire.
Thunder Wolves batted first and started off their innings reasonably well. The top three batsmen struck the ball hard and posted solid partnerships on the board. Jannat Gull top scored for his team with 37 off 29 balls. With a decent platform, the Wolves looked good to post 180+ runs on the board. However, Fayyaz Khan and Kamran Ibrahim interrupted the flow of runs with quick strikes in the middle. Ibrahim picked 2 wickets and gave away just 23 runs in his 4 overs. His efforts kept the Wolves' lower middle order in check as the batsmen managed 166 for the loss of 9 wickets after 20 overs.
An action-packed second innings began with the United Fighter's openers taking the bowlers to the cleaners. Rehman Kiyani's brilliant 69 from 51 balls made it seem like the batting side would easily chase down the target. After the dismissal of the top three batsmen, however, the batsmen suddenly lost their way. In a ridiculous turn of events, Fareed Ullah Agha ran out three consecutive batsmen, leaving United Fighter struggling significantly. Ultimately, the Wolves held their nerve and defended 166 as the opposition fell 3 runs short on the last ball.
Thunder Wolves won this close contest by 2 runs.
