Sam Lands and Renegades went against each other on 17th October at the 28th Challengers Cup.
Alamgir Raza Khan and Jaseem Khan opened the innings for Sam Lands, scoring 15 and 35 runs respectively. Kamran Wali, the one-down batter, scored 48 runs at a strike rate of 137.14. The bowlers dominated in the middle overs with Saad Dawood bagging 4 wickets. In addition to this, Hamza Bhatti took 2 wickets. Three of the batters lost their wickets on a duck each. Hence, Sam Lands posted a total of 161 runs.
Saad Asif and Shahbaz Attari opened the innings for Renegades, scoring 1 and 13 runs respectively. Mubeen Ali and Idrees Amin played crucial knocks in stabilising the innings. Mubeen scored 27 runs while Idrees added 31 runs to the score. Though Abdur Rehman Halari smashed 37 off 27. However, the bowlers dominated. Umer Hussain, Jaseem Khan and Mohammad Waqas bagged 2 wickets each. Hence, they were successful in denting the batters’ momentum.
As a result, Renegades were restricted to a score of 152 runs. Therefore, Sam Lands emerged as winners by 9 runs only.
