American Doors batted first and were off to a sparkling start as Majeed Pasta and Shakir Serang were in rock solid form and they did not let the bowlers settle as they attacked them from the outset. Majeed scored a quick 40 of just 27 balls with 2 sixes and 4 fours and Shakir was even better as he smashed 62 of just 26 balls with 5 fours and 5 maximums. The openers gave a perfect platform and after them Bilal Omer and Saad Gutta propelled the score forward and they added 19 and 20 runs respectively. The bowling on the other hand was ordinary, but to Shan XI’s credit they came back well after a poor start, Hamza Qadir picked up 2 wickets for 29 runs and was the highest wicket taker. In the end, American Doors managed to score 170.
Shan XI were also off to a blazing start and their openers were also up for the challenge. They made sure that they give their team a proper start. Imran Zia scored 37 of just 27 balls with 4 fours and Ali Jiwani scored 16 of 6 balls with 2 fours and 1 six. The middle order took advantage of the start as Hamza and Kamran took the innings forward and they scored 20 and 13 respectively with 1 six each. But even after a perfect start the bowling side came back strongly led by Shahid who picked up wickets for just 16 runs. He was supported by Khalid Kaka who also picked up 3 wickets, both bowlers broke the backbone of Shan XI and in the end, Shan XI managed to score only 140.
American doors won by 30 runs.
