Shan XI Shine In 19th Challengers Final

Dawson Stars and Shan Xi went head to head at the all important 19th Challengers Cup Final. Dawson batted first with openers Ali Mehar and Abid Malik hitting all the right notes smashing 48 and 45 runs at the top. Number 4 Daniyal Asif then kept the momentum going with his 41 but the team lost their way after that, losing a few quick wickets to slow down the flow of runs. Shan Xi bowlers did well to pull back the opposition with Ammad Hussain's 3 wickets and Waleed Ahmed picking up a couple. Dawson Stars ended with 167 for 6 in 20 overs.

In reply, Shan XI lost opener Kamran Ibrahim for duck to a real beauty by Ali Mehar. Fahad Ali and Waleed Ahmed (Who was in fine form) smashed half centuries to help their side to recovery. The team stumbled along the way, losing a few quick wickets but with the foundation set at the top, cameos of 27 and 20 by Zeeshan and Akthar helped Shan XI cross the line with a ball to spare. Credit to Dawson Stars bowlers who almost had the game, fighting hard to pick wickets and restrict the batsmen. Ali Mehar, Abid Malik and Anzar Pasta took 2 wickets each.

Shan XI won by 3 wickets and were crowned champions.
