SHAN XI vs FBCA
(FC CHALLENGERS CUP MATCH)
Shan XI faced FBCA in this exhilarating match of the FC Challengers Cup. FBCA had a solid start, as they batted first and their openers exhibited brilliant stroke play. Shayan Arfeen scored 44 runs off 36 balls and Umair scored 48 runs in same number of balls. Both these batsmen were sent back to the pavilion by Zain, whose exemplary line and length made him unplayable. Zain finished with excellent bowling figures of 4 for 19 in 4 overs. After the fall of the openers, FBCA could not accelerate the scoring rate. The rest of the batting order looked ordinary and only Mohammad Owais could reach the double figures, as he scored 17 runs. Apart from Zain, it was Athar Gayas who bowled well and took 1 wicket for 14 runs in his 4 overs. FBCA scored 129 runs for the loss of 5 wickets at the end of 20 overs.
In response, Shan XI had a shaky start. Fahad Ali lost his wicket at the score of 16, and it seemed that this early wicket will badly affect the Shan XI batting lineup. But the assumption was wrong as Noman Ampara stood like a rock in front of the FBCA bowlers. With little support from his team mates, Noman went on to score 63 runs off 50 balls. This innings put Shan XI in the driving seat and they chased the target on the third ball of the 19th over. Rana and Malik Bilal claimed 2 wickets each, while Saddam and Mir Ali got 1 wicket apiece.
Shan XI won the match by 4 wickets.
