In the highly anticipated grand final of the 15th Super Challengers Saturday Cup, Smashers CC emerged as the champions, defeating Future Stars CC by 8 wickets. The match witnessed some thrilling cricketing action, with both teams displaying their skills in an intense battle for the title.
Future Stars CC batted first but their openers, Muhammad Umer and Fayyaz Khan, couldn’t provide a strong start, scoring 15 off 13 and 14 off 14 balls, respectively. Bilal Ahmed contributed with a brisk 19 off 14 deliveries. Zaki Hasan tried to anchor the innings with a patient knock of 32 off 32 balls. However, the rest of the batting lineup struggled against the disciplined bowling of Smashers CC, led by the outstanding performance of Sohaib Saif, who claimed an impressive 3 wickets bowling at tight line & lengths making life difficult for the batsmen & setting the platform for rest of the bowlers. Syed Ali, Osama Altaf, and Saif Siddiq also joined the party, picking up 2 wickets each. As a result, Future Stars CC was bowled out for a modest total of 128 runs.
In response, Smashers CC’s openers, Sheraz Chauhan and Bilal Nadeem, provided a strong start to the chase. Sheraz Chauhan played a magnificent innings, scoring a brilliant 58 off 42 balls, displaying an array of powerful strokes and excellent timing. Bilal Nadeem played a supporting role with 16 off 17 balls. As the target approached, Abdullah Siddiqui held his nerve and played a composed unbeaten knock of 31 off 26 balls, ensuring there were no hiccups in the chase. Waris Ali also played a crucial unbeaten cameo, smashing 21 off just 11 balls, finishing the game in style.
