Soni Associates came up against Dalda Cricket Club in the 2nd Dollar East Day Tournament at Asghar Ali Shah Stadium.
Soni Associates batted first and Khurram(15) and Babar(17) got them off to a decent start before falling prey to Amin and Raza respectively. This bought the in form Ali Iqbal to the crease, who after a cautious start started depositing the ball to all parts of the ground. However he was not well supported by the partners from the other end and eventually he lost his wicket for 72 off 56 balls as Soni got to 151 for 5 in their 20 overs.
At the half way stage the contest seemed evenly poised but that was before Sadiq Khan took the new ball in his hands. The batsmen started falling like a pack of cards as Sadiq worked his magic. Four of the first five dismissals were accounted for by Sadiq and Farooq, the remaining batsman from the top 5 was run out thanks largely to the pressure created by Sadiq. Hassan(34) and Bilal(20) restored some respectability to the total as Dalda scraped past 100. Farhan was introduced in the attack late on and his double strike were the final nails in Dalda's coffin as they were all out for 102 in 19.3 overs meaning Soni walked away with a comfortable 49 run win.
