Southend Panthers Vs Southend Tigers (Southend Premier League)
Southend Tigers performed extraordinary on both sides of the field and won the match.
Southend Panthers were off to rocking start in the first innings with their opening pair who carried a partnership of 59 runs. Zahid Paracha scored 34 runs and Rehan Sheikh scored 25 runs. After their dismissal the next three batsmen that came in were sent back at a duck in a row. Younus Paracha gave his side some support and a boost on the scoreboard by scoring 40 runs. Later on Ali Gulzar and Jafar Qureshi scored 34 runs together and added some decent runs on the scoreboard. The entire team was bowled out a total of 153 runs in 37 overs. Asif Siddiqui and Pir Zulfiqar Ali were the key bowlers for the Southend Tigers to have picked up 3 wickets each and demolish the oppositions’ batting line up.
Southend Tigers were off to a brilliant start in the second innings. Their side had their hopes high because of their performance in the first innings and also because of the target set by the Southend Panthers, which seemed to be an easy target considering the number of overs they had in hand. Maaz Ismail was the man to start things off for his side and he did so with absolute brilliance. He scored an amazing 52 runs off 30 balls. Asif Siddiqui was the third man in and just like his performance with the ball, he performed with the bat as well. He scored 45 runs off 30 balls. The team was getting closer to the target and so was the moral increasing. Pir Zulfiqar Ali and Anwer Malik were the last two batsmen to take their side to glory and both of them scored a total of 32 runs together. Southend Tigers ended the match with a roar and chased the target easily in only 17 overs.
