The opening match of the Memon Super League Season 5 kicked off last night at TMC ground with Down Town Strikers batting first against Suleman MF Roomi Stallions.
Down Town Strikers struggled with the bat, losing wickets consistently, unable to really push off and get their innings going. Opener Ammar Iqbal scored 25 runs with the most valuable contribution coming from Number 8 batter Usman Ghani who’s 36 run cameo was key in helping Down Town Strikers reach 122 in 20 overs. Stallions bowlers did well to limit the opposition with Hunain Usman and Dawood Khan taking 2 wickets each and the rest of the unit keeping things tight.
In response, Suleman MF Roomi Stallions made the chase look easy with their top order batters contributing effectively. Talha Ahmedani scored 29 runs while Shahryar Ghani scored 39 runs. The man of the match however went to a sensational Rabish Ahmed whose explosive 46 off 28 saw his side to a comfortable victory in 15 overs. Strikers bowlers picked up 2 wickets but were helpless against the onslaught.
Suleman MF Roomi Stallions won by 8 wickets.
