Karachi Gymkhana batted first against Super Daddy CC in a friendly match. The team got an average start as their openers went to pavilion for 15 and 19 runs. Akbar Ali then scored 30 runs along with Mazhar Hussain who made 31 runs. But both these batsmen were too slow to get their team a substantial total in the allotted overs. Owais Idrees then tried to go for some big hits in the concluding overs but it was already too late. He managed to pull off 22 runs individually and it only helped Karachi Gymkhana to cross 150. Super Daddy CC bowlers were copacetic with their economies and contained opposition from making runs. Shehzad, Ahmer, and Rehan picked up 2 wickets each and the bowling unit limited the opposition to 151 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 22 overs.
Super Daddy CC, in reply, didn’t have a very high start. But it was the number 4 batsman Nadeem Siddiqui who handled the game and played a necessited knock of 43 runs. Mannan Khan and Muhammed Naveed then continued to drive Daddies towards the victory. Mannan scored 33 runs and Muhammed Naveed played a splendid knock of 37 runs with a felicitous strike rate of 205 making it possible for Super Daddy to chase the target with an over to spare. Karachi Gymkhana bowlers tried their best to cover their batsmen’s dereliction and gave a tough competition to the opposition but they did not succeed. Taha Zindani was the leading wicket taker picking up 3 wickets. Super Daddy CC chased the target and scored 152 runs in 21 overs for the loss of 5 wickets.
