Extras batted first against Naakians at the 1st semi final of the Bold presents KheloKricket Amateur League.
The batting side were off to a rocky start after losing opener Jibrail Khan for just 1 run. Irfan Ali and Hamza Ahmed also followed suit with a duck an 5 runs but the side seemed undeterred. Atif Ahmed kept things stable on one end with a responsible 31 before Shoaib Ali took the reigns. Shoaib stepped up with 71 off 37 including 10 fours and 3 sixes to pull Extras back in the game. Bilal Hayat Khan provided support with a valuable 48 as Extras were boosted to 183 for 5 in 20 overs. Despite the early breakthroughs, Naakians bowlers could not capitalize further. Faizan Zaheer and Faisal Sarkar took 2 wickets each.
In response, Naakians opener Faizan Zaheer struck out for just 3 runs which sparked a complete collapse from the side. The team continued to lose wickets with only Noman Shahid showing any real intent with a fighting 37. Moiz and Taqi also tried to rebuild with 15 and 21 but nobody was able to build an innings as Naakians were restricted to 141 for 8. Shoaib Ali who was having a fantastic day out took 2 wickets with the rest of the unit taking a wicket each.
Extras won by 42 runs and are through to the final.
