Suriya Fighters and A.K Garments went against each other on 24th September at the Young Fighter Ground.
Sameer Javed and Umar Suriya opened the innings for Fighters. While Sameer scored 10 runs, Umar was caught and bowled by Hamza Rangoonwala on a duck. In addition to this, Rangoonwala took 2 more wickets and Rehan Nepal dismissed 2 batsmen. The batting lineup was shaky, however, Umer Saleem’s innings of 52 not out helped Fighters to gain momentum. As a result, they posted a decent target of 135 runs.
The second innings started with Omar Farooq and Abdullah Aziz opening. Omar lost his wicket in a run out on 5 runs only, while Abdullah managed to score 23 off 21. The team did not have the start they desired and the wickets fell one-by-one after the openers. The bowlers dominated, with Mudassir Suriya leading the bowling pack and bagging 3 wickets. In addition to this, Abdul Qadir Suriya, Asad Sumar and Amir Altaf dismissed 2 batsmen each. Though Rehan Nepal scored 41 runs, however, his contribution was not enough to reach the final score.
Hence, the Fighters defended their score and won the match by 4 runs.
