In a group match of the Bohra Champions League 2017, played at the Al Nadil Burhani Ground, Taheri Cricket Club came head to head with the Saify Cricket Club, in a match that turned out to be a rather one sided affair.
Batting first, Taheri CC were off to a flying start, with star opener Taha Qadi smashing 54 runs in 45 balls, with the aid of 5 fours and 3 huge sixes. Fellow teammate Juzer Parekh supported him with a brisk 31 runs, in an innings that included 2 fours and 3 sixes. This outstanding partnership enabled the Taheri CC to end at a massive score of 170 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. For the Saify CC, Tahir Khan Sahib was the pick of the bowers, taking 2 wickets for 23 runs in his 4 overs.
Saify CC started their chase confidently, with all of their batsmen getting solid starts. However, the middle order duo of A Babrawala and Ibrahim Fazal Abbas contributed 32 and 34 runs respectively to try and bring their team closer to the target. However, the Taheri CC bowlers excelled with the ball too, with Taha Qadi taking 2 wickets for 24 runs. Hence, Saify CC were restricted at just 131 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.
Taheri CC won the match by 39 runs.
