The City School triumph over Hira Foundation School

The city school came in to bat first with their openers in fine form. Their openers made full use of their form & got their team off to a flying start. M Umer Usman & Hamza Quraishi put up a brilliant partnership of 100+ runs. Hamza Quraishi departed after playing a sublime knock of 65 runs off 50 deliveries. M Umer Usman followed him shortly after playing a solid knock of 62 runs off 71 deliveries. The bowlers then managed to make their way back into the match as they picked up wickets at regular intervals not allowing the batsmen to capitalize on the start given by their openers. Huzaifa Bin Malik came in towards the back end of the innings & played a fiery innings of 23 runs off 15 deliveries. Rao Zain lead the bowling lineup picking up 3 wickets. The city school posted a total of 182 runs for the lose of of 5 wickets.

Hira Foundation School came in to chase this target & were off to a shaky start. Despite loosing a wicket inside the powerplay they were scoring at a healthy rate. Sufyan Abdul Haq anchored the innings but was running out of partners as the bowlers kept on picking up wickets at quick successions not allowing the batsmen to settle in. Batsmen got their starts but were unable to convert them into a big innings as the bowlers kept things tight from one end. Sufyan Abdul Haq scored a fighting run a ball 55 but it was too big of a task for him alone. Fuzail Ahmed lead the bowling lineup as he single handedly ripped through the batting lineup picking up 4 wickets. He found good support from M Umer Usman & Zayyan Khan who picked up a couple of wickets. Hira Foundation School were bowled out for 130 runs in 22 overs.
