Titans Cricket Club Vs J.J Sports (20 over match)
With a collective team effort Titans Cricket Club easily won against J.J Sports by 32 runs at RLCA Gulberg.
Titans CC batted first and were off to a reasonable start as their openers took advantage of the power play and scored quick runs without losing a wicket. Both were timing the ball well and picked the gaps at regular intervals, Umair was more of a aggressor in the partnership whereas Afsar supported him well. Umair and Afsar both faced 21 balls each and scored 36 and 24 respectively. The good work of the openers was carried forward by Safdar and Shehzad. After the opening partnership this was another notable partnership of the innings. The pair added over 60 runs together and at a good rate. The partnership was broken by Kamran as he dismissed Shehzad for 22. Safdar was then joined by Usman and both finished the innings in fine style as they utilized every opportunity. Safdar was the highest scorer of the innings as he remained not out for 48 whereas Usman who also was not dismissed scored 24.
With 176 runs to get at the rate of over 8 runs an over J.J Sports knew they need to bat well to get it. They also got a perfect start with their openers Ahsan and Hamza got their team off to a good start. Both were aggressive from the outset, both got starts but unfortunately for J.J Sports the start was not converted into something big. After the openers got dismissed Kamran and Salman got together and it was Kamran who was looking in threatening mood whereas Salman was struggling as he hit only a single four in his 17 balls he faced. This added more pressure on Kamran but he responded to it well scoring a quick 50 of just 37. He smashed three monstrous sixes in his innings. J.J Sports after a good beginning lost their way in the end and the lower order could not add much to the total which resulted in a loss for J.J Sports and a comfortable victory for Titans CC by 32 runs.
