TPL Insurance batted first against Adamjee General at the Insurance Premier League this past Saturday at the Civil Aviation Ground.
Opener Kashif Rajput was on fire scoring a sensational 63 off 45 including 3 boundaries and 5 sixes to get his team off to a flying start. One down Ali Haider also chipped in with 15 runs before Muhammad Kamran's cameo of 38 off 22 helped his team post a competitive total of 156 for 5 in 18 overs. Adamjee bowler Zafar Siddiqui lead the attack picking up 3 wickets in his spell while Imran Chughtai and Jahanzeb Khan took a wicket each.
In response, Adamjee General continued to stumbled throughout the innings, losing wickets regularly. Shoaib Khan tried to steady his side with a valuable 32 off 26 while Rehan Akthar was the true star, giving his side a real chance at victory with 49 not out which included 3 boundaries and 2 sixes. Minor contributions of 17 by Inaam Khan and an explosive 11 off 5 by Dilip Kumar almost got their side over the line but Adamjee General fell short by just 4 runs. TPL bowlers Syed Ather Ahmed Jafri and Muhammad Kamran lead the attack with 2 wickets each to keep the pressure on while the rest of the unit kept things tight.
TPL Insurance won the thriller by 4 runs.
