Karachi Patriots v ZamZam Sports
An important encounter of the KheloKricket Champions Trophy took place between Karachi Patriots and Zam Zam sports at New Navy Karsaz cricket ground. Zam Zam sports won the toss and batted first. They lost their captain Shahid Mukhtar early after he had scored just 7 runs. However, Kamran Rehman and Sheroz Sabbir batted in aggressive fashion as they combined in a 114 run partnership. Kamran Rehman was dismissed after having scored 61 off just 34 balls while Sheroz got 61 off just 31 balls. S.M. Tahami followed up the good start with 45 off 28 balls to ensure Zam Zam sports ended at a huge total of 213 for 6 in 20 overs. For Patriots, Adnan Ghazi got 2 wickets while Tayyab R Balagamwala, Afzal Gigi, Sameer Ahmedani and Rizwan Merchant got a wicket each.
Patriots had a bad start as they lost their master blaster, Usman Yunus Ghani for a duck. However, the subsequent batsmen batted aggressively and put up a fight but they lost losing wickets at key intervals as Zam Zam bowlers made significant inroads at the right time. Rehan Hanif and Ghazanfar Richie both scored 39 runs and Rizwan Merchant got 22 but Patriots could only manage 173 for 8 in the designated 20 overs. For Zam Zam sports, Mehmood Ali got 2 wickets while Irfanullah, Farhan, Shahid,Kamran and Amir got a wicket each.
ZamZam Sports won by 40 runs.
