Insurance Association of Pakistan (IAP) batted first against Sons of Pitches this past Sunday dominating the opposition. Opener Kashif Rajput may have been dismissed cheaply for just 16 runs but the party ended for SOP after that. An in-form Umer Ishtiaq and the brilliant Rameez Mehboob teamed up in a match winning partnership that destroyed the bowling line up. Umer's 87 was a perfect knock only to be topped by Rameez's brilliant century. His 100 came off just 46 runs at an incredible strike rate of over 200. Haseeb finally made inroads for his side with 3 quick wickets but it was too little too late. Insurance Association of Pakistan ended at a mammoth 241 for 6 in 20 overs.
Sons of Pitches needed something extraordinary to chase down the target. After openers Farhad and Zubair Arif knocked cameos in their twenties, the following pair took over the match. Irfan Ali's exquisite 44 got things going but Moiz's 77 was the star innings for his side. The team however fell apart after that and despite a solid foundation set, eventually ended at 221 for 9 in 20 overs. A valiant knock in vain. IAP fielders did well to disrupt the opposition with 3 key run outs. Umer Hussain kept the pressure on with his 3 wickets and Nawaz Khan picked up a couple.
IAP won by 20 runs.
