What is it about the Wintex Strikers and the Ramzan FC Cup. 3 years, 3 consecutive victories for the boys in red who are yet to lose a single match in any of the tournaments! The stats are astounding.
Batting first against Sumya the team lost opener Adnan Salim for just 5 runs. Daniyal Ali and the ever reliable Atif Ahmed then stepped up with knocks of 50 and 58 respectively to pull their team right back in the game. Saad Ahmed also chipped in with 37 runs and while Sumya bowlers tried to keep the pressure on by taking wickets, they couldn't stop the flow of runs. Wintex ended at a very competitive 182 for 5 in 20 overs.
In response, Sumya cracked under pressure with 2 consecutive ducks that left the chasing side in tatters. Adeel Iqbal and Adeel Sabuwala then tried to lead the recovery with knocks of 41 and 24 runs but couldn't capitalise on the foundation they had set. Wintex bowlers kept things tight with Rafay Malik picking up 3 key wickets and Daniyal Ali taking a couple. The rest of the unit also kept at it taking a wicket each as Sumya crashed out for 131 in 17.1 overs.
Wintex Strikers won by 51 runs and undoubtedly were the best team of the tournament.
