The 2nd season of the ACM Gold t20 day tournament kicked off this past Saturday with Karachi Gladiators and Super Daddies going head to head. Super Daddies batted first and stole the show! Abid Malik was the unstoppable man with the iron bat in his exquisite knock of 136 off 66 including 14 boundaries and 9 sixes. With Abid leading from the front, Rehan Shaikh, Adeel Mansha and Naeem Siddiqui chipped in with 36, 21 and 29 to boost Super Daddies to a massive 249 for 2 in 20 overs. Gladiators bowlers were completely helpless against the onslaught, virtually trying every player in their squad to try and break the opposition's momentum. Sami Afridi and Izat Shah picked up a wicket each.
In response, Karachi Gladiators had a huge task ahead of them and openers Sami Afridi and Mohsin Khan took the Daddies on. Sami's handy 79 came off just 45 balls while Mohsin contributed a blistering 34. After the pair were dismissed however, the team came undone with only Zulqarnain Khan able to contribute 21. None of the subsequent batsmen were able to keep their wickets intact or the scoreboard ticking throwing away a dream start. For Super Daddies, Adnan Amjad was the star wicket taker with 3 scalps while Shahram Rasool took 2 wickets. Karachi Gladiators were limited to 193 for 8 in 20 overs.
Super Daddy CC won by 56 runs.
